According to his discharge papers:
Ernest REDGRAVE of Seething, Norwich, Norfolk enlisted in the Royal Engineers at the age of 19 y - m on the 15th of August 1887. He was stationed in Bermuda from 1888 to 1893, Halifax from Nov 30, 1893 to Dec 20 1896, Home from 1896 to 1901, Ceylon from 1901 to 1902, Home again from 1902 to 1905, Gibralter from 1905 to 1907, and Home again from 1907 to 1913 in which year he was discharged.
Ernest's father is listed as William from Seething [Norfolk] deceased.
Ernest's wife is listed as Susannah from Kildare, Ireland; they were married in Halifax NS on Oct 31, 1894.
